Software integration enhances formability analysis

May 10, 2005

Metals producer Corus and software developer ESI Group have announced the integration of the Corus-Vegter material simulation model into the Pam-Stamp 2G software package. The enhanced software is intended to improve formability analysis predictions and press stamping evaluations.

The Vegter model features the latest data, including high-strength steels and aluminum. Validated on standard test pieces as well as an actual automotive component in collaboration with Renault, the model allows engineers and designers to predict yield behavior under complex stress states.
