Structural adhesives designed to withstand stress from shock, impact, vibration

3M's Scotch-Weld toughened epoxy and acrylic adhesives provide long-term structural reliability under high stress from shock, impact, and vibration. High shear and peel strength enables the adhesives to serve as alternatives to mechanical fasteners and welds while reducing overall weight and cost, the company reports.

The products, which are available in duo-pack cartridges, can bond to oily metal and are designed with a low odor. Two-part formulations cure at room temperature.

The EPX II applicator dispenses a bead of adhesive with a squeeze, while the dispensing nozzle simultaneously mixes and applies the adhesive. The products have a two-year shelf life for bulk packs and 15 months for duo-pack cartridges.
