Toughened epoxy adhesive bonds metal to metal
3M has introduced 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ toughened epoxy adhesive DP920, designed for metal-to-metal bonding.
The adhesive has been developed with a combination of oil-absorbing and oil-displacing technology. This patented technology reduces the cleaning process that is commonly required for oily metal surfaces, says the company. Upon application, the adhesive cuts through surface oil and cures at room temperature.
The adhesive features high shear and peel strength with low odor. The product has a two-year shelf life for bulk packs and 15 months for duo-pack cartridges.
The EPX™ II applicator dispenses a bead of adhesive with a squeeze, while the dispensing nozzle simultaneously meters, mixes, and applies the adhesive.
