Tramp oil separator reduces hazardous waste volumes by up to 90 percent

Prab’s tramp oil separator removes tramp oils from coolant and wash water. Using gravity flow and coalescence, the unit removes free-floating and mechanically dispersed tramp oil from machine sumps, central systems, and wash tanks to less than 1 percent in a single pass.

According to the manufacturer, the system can extend the production life of oil-based, semisynthetic, and synthetic coolants and alkaline wash water while reducing hazardous waste volumes by up to 90 percent.

Optional equipment includes automatic air spargers to remove sludge and solids from the separator, coolant managers, customized electrical controls, and a variety of prefiltration options.
