Serapid's rigid chain locks together, forming a steel rod capable of pushing and pulling heavy dies and bolsters during changeover. The chain's speed and ability to position dies accurately helps reduce downtime and improve press productivity, reports the company.
The chain, which can jump gaps, provide long strokes, and coil up into a compact package, has minimal maintenance requirements and can work within harsh pressroom environments. It has been used as a push/pull mechanism in conjunction with quick die change equipment, including bolster extensions, die carts, and die tables.
