CAD/CAM, nesting software introduced

Striker Systems has announced the availability of FAB Professional 2009, the AutoCAD®-based version of the company's sheet metal CAD/CAM and nesting software.

The software provides direct integration with AutoCAD 2009 and AutoCAD Mechanical 2009, as well as integrated support for SolidWorks® and Autodesk Inventor®. It has a simplified user interface that adopts a new "ribbon" menu.

The software incorporates a new Extended Help system. As a command is selected, the command name and a brief command description are displayed. On many commands, pausing over the command icon for a second expands the information displayed, detailing command usage with additional text and diagrams. The instant feedback helps reduce the learning curve for new users and assists existing users when accessing seldom-used commands.
