3-D tube measuring system uses 10 hi-res digital cameras

Aicon has introduced TubeInspect HS, a camera-based, 3-D tube measuring system. It uses 10 digital cameras with high resolutions to measure the tubes. A spatial reference point field made from glass and located in the measuring cell allows the system to resort to reference points in different spatial planes for precise tube geometry measurement.

The system includes the company's software version 4.5, which features an improved algorithm to help increase measuring accuracy.

The measuring system reaches a precision of up to 50 m. It allows for the measurement of any tube geometry, regardless of surface color or texture, with diameters from 0.08 to 3.94 in. The measuring range of the system is 42.52 by 38.58 by 19.69 in.
