Bending simulation software features virtual gauge check

Aicon has launched the new software version 4.7 for its TubeInspect optical tube measuring system. The software lets operators simulate the bending process considering individual correction values. It also verifies the effect of those values on accuracy to gauge via a virtual gauge check.

With the help of high-resolution digital cameras, the system determines the tube geometry within seconds, shows which bending points deviate from the desired values, and suggests correction values. These correction values can be transmitted directly to up to 100 bending machines.

The operator can adapt suggested correction values depending on the actual circumstances and characteristics of the bending machine. The measuring system then simulates the results of the changes and shows with a virtual gauge check if this bending process could actually produce a good part.
