Electronic surface thermometer reads temps without constant calibration

LA-CO Industries Inc. has introduced the Tempil Estik® electronic surface thermometer for temperature-monitoring applications. It eliminates the need to carry multiple temperature indicators.

The unit directly touches the surface of the materials being inspected. The digital readout instantly displays surface temperatures with an accuracy of +/- 2 percent. Measuring surface temperature from 32 to 999 degrees F, the thermometer automatically reads all standard preheating, interpass, and cool-down temperatures and can be used on polished or nonpolished surfaces.

The unit is not subject to variables like calibration or distance from the surface, and it is not necessary to know what the emissivity of the surface material is to obtain an accurate reading.
