Length gauge measures delicate materials without force

Heidenhain has added two new models to its Zero-Force Metro length gauge line for measuring extremely sensitive, malleable materials without product deformation.

Available in 0.47-in. stroke lengths, one model offers a gauging force of 0.25 N in any mounting orientation with a weak spring, while the other has a gauging force of ~0.0 N mounted vertically downward with a Zero-Force spring mechanism. Accuracy is ±0.2 µm, and thermal stability is ensured by optical encoder technology.
