Multi-LED, broad-beam UV-A lamps aid in NDT inspection

August 19, 2014

Spectronics Corp. has introduced the Spectroline® TRITAN™ 365 series multi-LED, broad-beam UV-A lamps for NDT inspection. Each lamp features three ultrahigh-flux UV-A LEDs, as well as a white-light LED to illuminate dark work areas. A rubber bumper with a Borofloat® glass lens protects the LEDs from damage.

The 16-oz. compact lamps are available in three versions to meet specific NDT inspection requirements. The TRI-365HA high-intensity model provides a nominal steady-state UV-A intensity of 9,000 µW/cm2 at 15 in. The TRI-365DA and TRI-365DBA are standard-intensity models that are tuned to ensure a maximum steady-state UV-A intensity of less than 5,000 µW/cm2 at 15 in. to address aerospace concerns. The DBA lamp has a faceplate with integral black light filters that cover the LEDs and reduce the output of wavelengths longer than 400 nm.
