Optical measuring device takes fast 2-D measurements of parts

Titan Tool Supply Inc. has introduced the V-CAD 1 optical measuring device. It can take fast measurements of parts up to 3 by 2.5 in.

According to the manufacturer, the unit’s high-resolution optical equipment helps ensure distortion-free measurement with excellent depth of field over the entire calibrated measuring range. The 2-D measurements are fully displayed in one window image.

Features include large fields of view, no axis movement to cause wear and tear, ultrahigh-resolution camera with telecentric lenses, and a distortion-free calibrated measurement range. An LED incident light source is optional.

The Saphir QD software enables measurement of several identical and different parts in a single operation. Parts can be placed on the machine’s glass plate for measurement, without the need for manual alignment.
