Part inspection system features expanded field of view

George Products Co. Inc. has introduced the CoreX2 part inspection system. Its field of view is 3.40 by 2.80 in., allowing users to measure parts up to 3.375 in. long and up to 2.75 in. dia. to an accuracy of ±0.0002 in.
Working with a shadow (profile view) of the part, the system takes measurements six times per second and compares them to dimensional tolerances and reports a pass, warn, or fail. Using Oasis-Link capabilities in the software, parts up to 6.5 in. long can be measured and reported.
The system uses edge detection and geometric recognition algorithms to take measurements automatically, in real time, on the shop floor.
