Photogrammetric camera captures measurements in unstable industrial environments

The INCA3 photogrammetric camera from Geodetic Systems Inc. merges a ultrahigh-resolution CCD sensor with a compact, PC-based computer to capture field measurements in unstable industrial environments. The company demonstrated photogrammetry by measuring a full-size Porsche during the Control Fair in Sinsheim, Germany.

The lightweight, sturdy camera has an integrated strobe, wireless (WIFI) operation and connectivity, and automatic exposure. It is best-suited for measuring and inspecting large objects in place. Once the camera captures photos of an object’s surface, the manufacturer’s proprietary V-STARS software automatically inspects the collected digital images and extracts the required 3-D data needed for the measurement task.
