Pipe testing plugs available in nylon, aluminum, and steel

July 15, 2008

The Pipestoppers division of Huntingdon Fusion Techniques Ltd. manufactures a range of pipe testing plugs for many industrial and domestic applications. Three styles are available: nylon, aluminium, and steel.

Each plug comprises two plates on a central hollow waterway with an expandable rubber seal—which compresses to seal inside the opening of a pipe when the wing nut is turned—between the plates.

The plugs are available from stock to fit pipes and orifices in diameters from 0.5 in. to 72 in. The 0.5-in.-dia. waterway in the center is threaded on the outside with a 0.5-in. BSP thread to help attach standard hoses used in pressure testing or drainage. The waterway can be of standard length or extra long to allow double-plug configurations, as well as for insertion deeper into holes and pipes.

Applications include pipework systems, landfill, shipbuilding and operation, paint spraying and casting, and building and construction.
