Pipeline inspection crawler enhanced
Envirosight LLC has made three enhancements to its Rovver line of modular, steerable pipeline inspection crawlers.
The crawler now features a new zooming pan/tilt camera head with an optional laser measurement system; a hand-held pendant for fingertip control of more crawler functions; and a wide wheel set for improved traction in sediment.
The camera head combines 10X optical zoom and 4X digital zoom to extend inspection range and improve resolving power. The head also projects two laser dots 1.575 in. apart onto targets in the camera's field of view, providing a measurement reference to help size defects and debris.
The intuitive graphical layout allows fingertip control of numerous functions, including the zoom and laser on the camera head. Machined from aluminum, the splashproof pendant is 6 in. wide, 4 in. long, and 2.4 in. deep.
