Roll forming fine-tuning system works offline

July 14, 2009

Dreistern has developed an automatic tooling measuring and tuning system. All measuring and fine-tuning work is performed offline so that the roll forming machine remains available for production.

The system measures and stores the last good production settings. It positions work shafts automatically (vertically) in roll-change position and sets exchanged roll tooling to the last documented setup.

The system is used with the company's standard forming stands P3.100, P3.125, P3.160, and P3.200. Two-pass, four-pass, or six-pass quick-change plates are available.
