Sheaths protect thermocouples in furnace heating control systems

HotRod™ pyrometry sheaths from Morgan Molten Metal Systems protect thermocouples in furnace heating control systems. The pyrometer assemblies are made of an erosion-resistant clay-graphite mix with special plasticity properties, which then is extruded into the proper shape.

The pryometer assemblies are designed to have a metal wire inserted into them to then be put into a metal bath to measure the temperature. The sheaths, designed for use in furnaces and other high-temperature environments, are supplied with a 0.5-in. threaded steel tube for attachment to the furnace pyrometry system.
