Tension hydrotester updated

March 8, 2012

Brandt Engineered Products Ltd. has introduced improvements to its tension hydrotester.

Hydraulic flow to the pressure intensification system has been doubled. Higher-flow vertical turbine pumps provide up to 1,200 GPM, and a 180 percent larger air purge valve results in less back pressure and reduced filling time. An intermediate connection from the water supply piping to tooling helps speed changeover times.

A sacrificial adapter has been added to tooling to prevent damage to the main housing from connection of the high-pressure water hose. Composite materials have been used to reduce the number of grease points required, and pipe flush-out nozzles can be adjusted without tools.

The climate-controlled operator's booth houses the main control panel. An optional camera system is available for viewing entry/exit and tailstock sections.
