Next-generation laser cutting, welding system released

TRUMPF has released the next generation of the TruLaser Cell series 7000, which features overhauled laser system mechanics and software for processing 2-D and 3-D material.

The laser system employs a piercing strategy designed for thin sheet metal processing combined with faster positioning speeds. The TopsViewer integrated graphical editor allows the user to adapt the processing program to reduce the positioning times of new parts. LensLine lens monitoring sensors prevent dirty focusing lenses from being destroyed, which in turn protects the optical path.

A smaller die diameter reduces the flow rate and process gas consumption. For applications in which quality is secondary to the cost per part, compressed air may be used.

The standard laser technology tables provided with the system facilitate welding up to 7 kW and high-speed laser cutting with a laser output up to 6 kW, resulting in cutting speeds up to 1,575 IPM.

Two new axis modules for small and medium-sized rotation of symmetrical components process a variety of parts. A flexible partition divides the work area for loading and unloading large parts simultaneously.
