Coupling system for 14- to 24-in. pipe introduced

March 8, 2005

Victaulic Co. has introduced its patent-pending Advanced Groove System (AGS), a mechanical coupling assembly system for 14- to 24-in. pipe. The line, which consists of flexible and rigid couplings, fittings, valves, and accessories, replaces the company's current offering in this size range.

Designed for use in commercial building and industrial applications, the system features a wedge-shaped groove that delivers pressure ratings up to 350 PSI. The new design has a robust coupling housing and a deep, wide groove. It provides a continuous seal around the gasket. The single groove profile is intended to prevent pipe end flare.

The couplings comprise a two-piece housing secured with two bolts. A bolt-pad-to-bolt-pad design allows visual confirmation of proper assembly.

Specific roll sets are compatible with the company's existing model VE416FSD, VE414MC, and VE436MC tools.
