Fluid connector line expanded

Parker Instrumentation has extended its line of push-fit fluid connectors for high-pressure industrial applications, offering eight new variants that allow the 20,000-PSI (1,379-bar) connector to be used on metric and imperial tubing sizes of 14 mm, 16 mm, 18 mm, 20 mm, 22 mm, 25 mm, 3/4 in., and 1 in. The new sizes are suitable for high-pressure hydraulic systems; steam and gas services and supply lines in factories, plants, power stations, and ships; and high-performance test equipment.
Assembled by a push-fit operation, the Phastite connectors provide permanent connections for high-pressure fluid systems. According to the company, the connectors take less time to install than welded or cone-and-thread fittings.
Supplied as one-piece components, the connectors incorporate a compression assembly principle with a toothed profile, which makes the seal. To make a joint, the operator inserts a tube and, using a hydraulic tool, pushes the collar along the connector body until it stops.
A sealing system inside the connectors, a collar that slides along an angled body, compresses several circular profiles into the tubing. A vertical face, located at the end of the short travel, provides confirmation of correct assembly. Multiple profiles are designed to apply less pressure at each sealing point than a standard fitting.
The connector line now includes straight union, union elbow, T, and union cross connector shapes in imperial and metric sizes from 1/4 in. to 1 in., and from 6 mm to 25 mm. Termination connectors provide a link between the equipment's fixed, permanent tubing and any element that needs to be disconnected or maintained.
Applications include deep-sea oil and gas drilling, ROVs and subsea, laboratory testing, and high-pressure machinery such as waterjet systems.
