PC-based software system creates complex pipe shapes

Mazak Optonics Corp. has released FX Tube, a PC-based software system for tube and pipe processing, for use on the Mazak Fabri Gear machine. The new system can create complex pipe shapes via imported solid models, 2-D CAD data, or internal drafting features.

The input system defines geometric features and can add hole and cut shape patterns to reduce drawing time. The system also features high-speed nesting functions to cut multiple parts on multiple pipe materials.

The preview function automatically matches to the material shape. It offers an interactive, 3-D simulation mode to check for torch, chuck, and workpiece interference.

The software supports DXF, IGES, DWG, 3D-IGES, and STEP data with additional options, including the IFC/TEKLA CAD systems.
