Pipe notcher produces copes for pipes that must be welded together at an angle - TheFabricator.com

Scotchman Metal Fabricating Solutions has introduced the AL100U-02 pipe notcher/grinder by Almi for notching of gas pipes, steam pipes, and stainless steel pipes. The machine produces copes for pipes that must be welded together at an angle and is suitable for preparing double corner joints.

The user places a pipe in the clamp, which is mounted on a compound carriage, and grinds a diameter or any shape of pipe to the desired angle. The machine operates at high speed so stainless steel sections can be machined without grinding burrs or heat discoloration. The grinding roller can be changed without tools, and the grinding belt can be tightened and adjusted quickly and easily, the company says.

A deburring table on top of the machine deburrs pipes after grinding.
