Pipe purging system facilitates high-temperature welding

December 7, 2004

Argweld™ heat-resistant pipe purging systems from Huntingdon Fusion Techniques Ltd. allow for high-temperature welding.

Designed for materials in which pipe joints and adjacent areas need to be preheated before and after welding to avoid cracking, the system enables welders to purge pipes in temperatures of 300 degrees C for up to 24 hours.

The system comprises two heavy-duty, inflatable dams connected by a flexible argon gas pipe. The whole system is covered in heat-resistant material, and the spinal hose is covered with bonded, preformed mineral wool to British Standard specification.

Models are available from 101.6 mm and longer, with a range of approximately 12 mm.
