Rotary tools deburr, form, and chamfer tube ends
- January 18, 2016

- Tube and Pipe Fabrication
Severance Tool has developed a line of tube end finishing rotary tools for deburring, forming, and chamfering. They are designed to finish both the ID and OD of tubing ends in a single operation. Many feature adjustable, two-piece construction to accommodate work on same-size tubing with varying wall thicknesses.
The deburring tools are designed for light duty, breaking the sharp edges of the ID and OD simultaneously. They provide a 30-degree inside chamfer and a 45-degree outside chamfer, operating at 50 to 200 RPM. Featuring an adjustable outside ring, the tools are available for 1/8-in. to 2.25-in. ODs.
The end forming cutters machine both the ID and OD radius, producing a smooth, rounded end. High-speed steel and carbide tools are available for tube ODs from 1/8 to 2.5 in.
The end chamfering mills provide shear cutting action and an adjustable outside ring, as well as Chatterless™ tooth geometry for heavy-duty cutting of 45-degree-OD and 30-degree-ID chamfers. They are available for pipe and tube ODs from 3/16 to 2.5 in.
