Tube and pipe weld purging system prevents oxidation

Huntingdon Fusion Techniques HFT® has introduced the PurgElite® tube and pipe purging system. Designed for use when welding tubes and pipes such as stainless, duplex, and chrome, the system purges the internal bore with an inert gas to prevent oxidation and discoloration and to ensure a good internal weld profile.
The system, made of materials with low outgassing rate, handles pipe diameters from 1 to 24 in. The spinal tube is resistant to hot metal up to 572 degrees F. Its flexibility allows movement around tight bends.
Features include the IntaCal® purge gas feed device; the RootGlo® centerpiece glow positioning indicator; and quick-connect/-disconnect fittings with collets and O-ring seals for gas-tight sealing, fitted with an antirelease circlip to prevent parts from separating inside pipes.
Heat-resistant covers with a temperature rating up to 572 degrees F are available as an accessory to protect the inflatable dams, which are held on with ties. Holes are provided for the argon inlet and exhaust.
