Hot sizing mill handles API pipe

Brandt Engineered Products Ltd. has introduced a new hot sizing mill to accommodate a variety of specifications. Designed for maximum throughput, it is equipped with three stands positioned 90 degrees to each other that are adjustable electronically from the operator’s station.

Each roll stand is designed with a quick-change feature to minimize changeover time. Each stand can pivot to a horizontal position to allow quicker and easier size changeovers and maintenance, the company states. Once horizontal, the pipe can bypass the hot sizer system and continue on the conveyor line.

Intended for sizing API pipe, it handles diameters from 4.5 to 13.625 in. OD and wall thicknesses from 0.250 to 0.595 in. It is intended for pipe grades N80, L80, C95, P110, and Q125.

Operating modes include fully automatic, semiautomatic, and manual.
