Manufacturing cell creates extremely short, straight lengths after bending, forming

The t motion automated manufacturing cell from transfluid® Maschinenbau GmbH is designed for the production of short-elbow tubing sections for use in car radiators and air-conditioning units.

The cell enables the coil to be handled directly. In the first manufacturing stage, the tubing (from 0.31 to 0.87 in. dia.) is unwound, aligned, and cut. The tube ends then are compressed in a transfer line, and a subsequent component of the line rolls and polishes the surface. After the axial and rotary end forming process, the cell automatically bends 80 percent of the parts by 40 to 120 degrees.
