GMAW consumables help create stable, predictable arc

Tweco®, a Victor Technologies™ brand, has introduced new Velocity™ GMAW consumables, which are integrated into the company's Fusion™ series of light-duty GMAW guns.

The nonthreaded, drop-in-style contact tip eliminates the need to use tools to remove the tip, even if the wire burns back and fuses inside the tip. The consumables design integrates the gas diffuser into the conductor tube, creating an all-copper conductor path that provides electrical conductivity and transfers heat away from the tip. This helps make the arc stable and predictable.

The consumables integrate the gas diffuser/contact tip seating area into the end of the conductor tube. A threaded nozzle secures the contact tip against the seating area, and it also directs and smooths shielding gas flow for gas coverage of the weld puddle.
