Viking Blast & Wash Systems has released the RT 9616-SP plate and structural blasting unit. The machine removes rust and scale from exterior surfaces of plate up to 8 ft. wide and 3 in. high and structurals up to 16 in. wide and 24 in. high.
The unit utilizes six 15-HP VC-1 direct-driven, center-fed blast wheels for cleaning. The dual-direction, powered roller table conveyor system features variable travel speeds from 1 to 20 FPM. The variable feed rate is adjustable to provide for different surface finishes from SSPC-7 brush-off finish to SSPC-5 white finish.
The blast cabinet is lined with manganese and replicable -in.-thick cast chrome blast pads for durability and low maintenance. Two sealed isolation vestibules buffer the workplace from errant abrasive, while the dust evacuation system keeps the blasted material clean and the work environment dust-free.
Options include an abrasive blowoff system, entrance and exit conveyors, auxiliary abrasive hopper, and part-presence sensors.
