Digitizing waterjet allows reverse engineering

WARDJet offers a waterjet system with a digitizing capability, allowing reverse engineering of physical parts that have no drawings or electron files. Large parts can be laid on the waterjet table, and the waterjet memorizes the part profile.

With the X series controller, the waterjet cutting head or a laser alignment guide mounted near the cutting head can be used to record the X, Y, and Z coordinates of a part. The user clicks "Teach New Part" on the controller screen to start mapping the part geometry.

Both lines and arcs can be taught. If further cleanup is needed, the CNC file can be brought into a CAD/CAM program.
