Waterjet software introduces new 3-D pathing capabilities

Flow Intl. Corp. has released FlowXpert™ 2015 3-D CAD/CAM software. The platform expands on the 2-D FlowMaster® intelligent software suite. It includes design powered by Spaceclaim, an integrated 3-D CAD/CAM programming tool with Flow Sequencer. Geometry analysis is waterjet-specific.

Users can design a part and path it in the same program. The geometry of a part can be modified without losing the path. In most cases, the sequencer integration automatically updates the path to accommodate the changes. The software also detects model and path errors and suggests fixes.

Features include 3-D CAM offset capabilities, custom lead-in/-out, and cleanup tools that can be customized to the user’s waterjet. Users can save 3-D models as 2-D programmed parts.
