Laser weld seam inspection system introduced

Kent Corp. has introduced a new post-weld seam inspection system for GTAW and laser welding mills. The system records mismatch, roundness, concavity, and undercut. Standard equipment is accurate within 0.001 in., and higher-resolution cameras are available.

An alarm can be set to notify the operator before the tube is out of spec to prevent scrap and returns caused by bad welds. Setup has reduced setup time for some users has been reduced by more than 50 percent, the company states.
