Welding inspection system is laser-based

Servo-Robot has introduced the Wiki-Scan hand-held wireless system for welding inspection. The laser-based tool can measure part fit-up before welding to help ensure that the joint preparation meets procedure requirements.
It provides a 3-D scan of joints and weld beads, measuring them for features such as size, porosity, and undercut. These results can be augmented with a picture of the weld, voice recording, and comments saved directly to the unit. All records can be filtered by date and by fulfillment of standards and tolerance limits.
