Flashback arresters protect hydrogen users

Witt Gas Controls LP offers its flashback arresters designed for use with hydrogen, according to EN 730-1/ISO 5175. Using sealing material that is optimized for hydrogen applications, as well as a stainless steel flame arrester with a large surface area, they provide protection against reverse gas flow and flashbacks.

A temperature-sensitive cutoff valve extinguishes sustained flashbacks long before the internal temperature of the arrester reaches a dangerous level. In addition, a spring-loaded nonreturn valve prevents slow or sudden reverse gas flow from forming explosive mixtures in the gas supply.

Each flashback arrester is tested individually before delivery. A filter at the gas inlet protects the arrester against dirt contamination.
