Cageless robot system safeguards workers

Uncage the robots. FreeMove from Veo Robotics Inc. is a cageless system that safeguards production personnel from the motion of robots while allowing full access to the work area.

The control system relies on advanced computer vision and 3D sensing to give standard industrial robots the ability to perceive and respond to their surroundings. This promotes more efficient, flexible production lines, said the company’s CEO and co-founder, Patrick Sobalvarro.

“We turn standard industrial robots of any size into collaborative robots,” Sobalvarro told Additive Report Editor Don Nelson during an interview at FABTECH 2019.
