Interview with additive manufacturing consultant Terry Wohlers, Part 1

The Additive Report spent a few minutes talking with the publisher of the Wohlers Report, Terry Wohlers, at the recently concluded RAPID 2019 show in Detroit.

The conversation ranged from new technologies at the show—North America’s largest additive manufacturing exhibition and conference—to postprocessing to challenges the 3D printing industry faces to how big a slice of the $12 trillion global manufacturing pie AM can cut.

Wohlers is the founder and president of Wohlers Associates Inc., a 32-year-old consulting firm in Fort Collins, Colo., that offers guidance to clients in the AM market.

The Wohlers Report is the industry’s best-known analysis of the global 3D printing industry. The 2019 edition marks the 24th year it’s been published.
