ASTM to host additive manufacturing symposium

ASTM’s Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence will host the fourth Symposium on Structural Integrity of Additive Manufactured Materials and Parts Oct. 7-10 in Oxon Hill, Md. Co-sponsored by several technical committees, the symposium also is supported by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Federal Aviation Administration, Food & Drug Administration, and European Structural Integrity Society TC15.

This event will provide a forum for the exchange of ideas regarding the structural integrity of parts fabricated using AM with a focus on the lack of industry standards, design principles, as well as qualification and certification challenges. The materials of interest include metals, polymers, composites, and ceramics.
