A 3D-printed cupholder for the new 2022 Maverick pickup. Ford

Ford Motor Co. has made it possible for buyers of the 2022 Maverick pickup truck to personalize their vehicle’s interior by 3D-printing accessories like cupholders, phone-cord organizers, and bin dividers.

The eight additively manufactured parts integrate with the Ford Integrated Tether System, a standard feature of the compact truck. FITS is a series of slots at the rear of the center console and the under-seat storage area designed to accommodate DIY 3D-printed accessories. (Buyers also can purchase accessories produced by the automaker.)

Ford has made available downloadable CAD data for the center console and under-seat areas for those who opt to 3D-print their fittings or have them printed by a third party.
