Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division has announced that Hexagon has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire AMendate, a Germany-based startup providing simulation software that supports the generation and optimization of designs for additive manufacturing. AMendate will join Hexagon’s MSC Software business, a provider of CAE simulation software and services.

With this acquisition, MSC will be able to offer purpose-built software for AM that enables the efficient production of highly complex components.

AMendate was founded in 2018 by a team of experienced researchers from Paderborn University and the Direct Manufacturing Research Center in Paderborn, an industrial/academic consortium started in 2008 by Boeing, EOS, and other commercial partners.
