CreatBot rolls out 3D printer for building large engineering-grade parts

CreatBot designed its new FDM-style F1000 3D printer to build large-scale objects, including prototypes, from nylon, ABS, carbon-fiber-reinforced composites, and other engineering-grade materials.

The build envelope of the single-head machine measures 1,000 by 1,000 by 1,000 mm, and the envelope of the double-head model is 940 by 1,000 by 1,000 mm. The fully enclosed, heated chamber incorporates an auto-leveling build plate and a camera that lets the operator control printing jobs remotely. Other design and performance features include maximum nozzle and bed temperatures of 420 degrees C and 100 degrees C, respectively; max print speed of 120 mm/sec.; 0.05-mm layer resolution; and automated data storage when power outages occur.
