Evonik unspools new osteoconductive PEEK filament for 3D-printed implants

Evonik has expanded its portfolio of 3D-printable biomaterials with the introduction of Vestakeep iC4800 3DF, an osteoconductive PEEK filament for making implants on FFF (fused filament fabrication)-style printers.

The filament reportedly improves fusion between a patient’s bone and the implant.

The Darmstadt, Germany, specialty chemicals company introduced the Vestakeep Fusion product line in 2020. It will debut the newest material at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons conference, scheduled for March 22-26, 2022, in Chicago.
