Farsoon introduces metal LPBF 3D printer

The FS200M×2 metal LPBF (laser powder-bed fusion) printer is new to the North American market. The manufacturer, Farsoon, which is based in China and has offices throughout the world, gave the medium-sized machine a build volume of 425 by 230 by 300 mm and dual 500-W lasers.

The rectangular build platform is well-suited for the twin-laser configuration, says Farsoon, adding that advanced calibration algorithms precisely control both lasers’ operation. The printer can integrate multiple scanning strategies, such as building different layer thickness in a single build, depending on the application’s requirements.

Other features include:

• An integrated, two-stage filter module with a powerful back-flush function that extends filter life and helps ensure repeatable parts.

• A recoater-blade design that helps achieve uniform part properties across the build platform.

• For quality control purposes, in-chamber cameras monitor and record each layer.

• A top-feed powder system equipped with sensors that signal when it’s time to refill powder.

• A footprint of just 3.48 sq. m.
