Photocentric intros new LCD 3D printer

LCD 3D printing pioneer Photocentric recently released the next generation of its Liquid Crystal Magna 3D printer, which reportedly allows users to move from prototyping to production in hours. The world’s largest LCD printer, it has a 21.1- by 11- by 13.8-in. build envelope and a print speed of 16 mm/hr.—twice as fast as the last-generation Magna.

Other capabilities and features include:

• Layer thicknesses of 25, 50, and 100 µm (Layer thicknesses greater than 100 µm can be laid, dependent upon the resin’s properties).

• 4K screen (3,840 by 2,160 pixels).

• 2-sec./layer cure speed.

• 460-nm light-output wavelength.

• 7-in. touch screen.

• Easy-to-clean platform and chassis with a double-sealed vat.

• Aluminum platform with Teflon coating.

• Precision-engineered components, including Hiwin linear rails.

• Trinamic motor drives.
