Rapidia’s two-step metal 3D printing system takes parts from printing to sintering furnace
- April 8, 2019

Rapidia offers a two-step, office-friendly 3D printing system. The parts go directly from the printer to a sintering furnace.
The metal printer has two independent print heads that are fed with a water-based metal paste. This safe, environmentally friendly paste allows a solvent-free 3D printing work flow with no requirement for polymer disposal. No fumes or odors are created in the printer during printing, since the only material that evaporates is water.
The fully automated sintering furnace operates on 220 to 240 VAC single-phase and plugs into a standard NEMA 50-amp outlet. A retort made of thick refractory metal helps ensure thermal uniformity over the full temperature range. While the furnace may be connected directly to the internet for remote monitoring, the recommended interface is via the built-in USB port. Besides sintering, the furnace also can be used for heat treatment, hydrogen brazing, and bright annealing.
