Chicago-based Sciaky Inc., a subsidiary of Phillips Service Industries Inc. (PSI) and provider of metal additive manufacturing (AM) technology, has entered a strategic partnership with Concurrent Technologies Corp. (CTC) to offer Sciaky’s Electron Beam Additive Manufacturing (EBAM®) metal 3-D printing technology.
CTC is an independent, nonprofit, applied scientific research and development professional services organization in Johnstown, Pa.
The 3-D metal printing system can produce parts from 8 in. to 19 ft. long. Its gross deposition rates are 7 to 25 lbs. of metal per hour. The system’s Interlayer Real-time Imaging and Sensing System (IRISS®) can sense and digitally self-adjust metal deposition.
