Pulse Systems opens Massachusetts prototyping facility

Concord, Calif.-based contract manufacturer Pulse Systems has announced the opening of a new East Coast Development Center facility in Marlborough, Mass. The facility will provide medical device designers in the eastern U.S. the opportunity to explore manufacturability options at a local facility and to produce prototype and low-volume laser-cut parts to facilitate their development projects.

The new location is starting out as a regional sales and customer support office; by the end of 2019 it will be equipped and staffed to operate as a low-volume, quick-turn prototype facility for laser cutting of tubular components on behalf of medical device customers.

The company performs precision laser machining of tubular and flat metal components and value-added services such as laser welding, CNC screw machining, Nitinol shape-setting and electropolishing, and Class 10,000 clean-room assembly.
