Specialty Strip & Oscillating marks 25 years in business
Specialty Strip & Oscillating Inc., Masury, Ohio, celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Tom M. von Philp founded the company in 1994 after working in executive and management positions at Bethlehem Steel, Empire Detroit Steel, and Sharon Steel.
The family-owned business now is operated by Tom’s son, Adam von Philp, president. It supplies oscillated prime coils in cold-rolled low-carbon, high-carbon, alloy, and stainless steel with tempers, tolerances, edges, and finishes to customer specifications. It provides oscillate coils with 20 to 25 miles of continuous strip, with capabilities to process coils up to 2-1/2 in. wide and weighing 5,000 lbs.
