FabMetals to expand, add jobs

Metal fabricating company FabMetals, New Carlisle, Ohio, is investing up to $8 million in an expansion that is expected to create 20 to 25 new jobs.

Established in 1986, the company is building a 40,000-sq.-ft. facility. It currently employs about 25 full-time workers and 25 to 30 temporary workers, many of which are expected to be added to the payroll in the coming months.

The plan calls for an investment of $5.5 million to $6 million for the expansion, including equipment. But the company also plans to make an additional $2 million investment on more equipment in 2018. The project could be completed by March or April.

FabMetals makes metal components for customers in various industries, including trucking, automotive, the military, defense, and aerospace.
